Model aircraft launching winch - is equipped with rope return device and uses same motor for both lifting and rope return operations

The aircraft model launching winch includes a rope return device which has the two rope winding functions, i.e. for the launch operation and the rope return operation combined in one aggregate. The drive forces used for both the starting and the rope return operation are obtained from the same motor. The actual winding operations are carried out through rope drums which are driven by a common drive shaft. The rope drums can be selectively operated through coordinated clutch/brake combinations in accordance with the requirements at any one time and provide coupling and separation capability for each drum either separately or in common with the other drum, to the drive shaft.
