Football boot with two running sole bending zones - has inserts dividing inner soles to improve flexibility and prevent distortion

Cutouts at right angles to the long axis of a football boot, in the elastic polyamide surface layer of the running sole, extend across the bending zones and into the base structure of the sole. Where the cutouts pass through the reinforcing layer between the base structure and the surface layer, the base structure, at least in the zones of its edges, is thinned down. Where the inner sole is stamped out in line with the bending zones of the running sole, the inner sole is divided from one edge to the other. The base structure is bonded to the inner sole, and in each stamping a lens-shaped filling piece of material compressible in volume is glued transversely to the centre line. The elastic suppleness of the running sole in the bending zones is improved still further, so that the rolling motion of the foot meets very little resistance, whilst distortion and rucking of the inner sole, even with severe bending is avoided.
