Demountable steel flyover bridge superstructure - comprises triangular main roadway girder, side border and possibly footpath carriers

A steel superstructure, and supporting piers made of steel or concrete, make up a bridge serving as rapidly erected or dismantled flyover, esp. in urban areas. The overall cross-section of the former is assembled from one or more roadway carriers with triangular main girder, one or two footpath carriers, or none, and two bounding elements at the sides. When built in, each roadway carrier pref. has the full width of a traffic line and full-length between two piers. The upper chord of the triangular main girder may be formed by part of the orthotropic roadway slab, pref. incorporating two sloping solid-sided stem plates welded to the upper chord. This structure is economical in materials, production and assembly, and provides a high standard of visual appeal and low noise level.
