False-twist texturising machine heater - with cover for yarn groove comprising wire with intermittent helical coils

A heater for a false-twist texturising machine, comprising a heater bar with a longitudinal groove along which the yarn passes, has a tensioned wire attached to the cover of the assembly having a series of enlargements at regular intervals along it which sit in the open side of the yarn groove to prevent the running yarn climbing out. The enlargements may be formed by helical coils of the wire itself in the form of tension or compression springs. Alternatively, appropriately-sized discs, spheres or cylinders may be attached to the wire. The yarn groove is effectively closed by this simple expedient, which does not hinder cleaning of the groove. The wire may be easily replaced, and it may be applied to existing heater assemblies.
