Heat exchanger for heat recovery from exhaust gas - using bundle of glass tubes supported in tube plate and sealed with O=rings

Heat exchanger consists of bundle of parallel glass tubes with distribution leaders for the liquid in the tubes e.g. water. Air or exhaust gas is used on the shell side. Pref. tube size is 10-40 (pref. 30)mm with wall thickness 08m2 (pref. 1.5)mm. The tube length is 500-3000 (pref. 1500)mm. The distributors are joined to the side walls of the shell. The end plates are stainless steel but can be plastic coated for added protection. Used for recovering heat from hot exhaust gas streams. The glass tubes resist corrosion and are less susceptible to fouling than metal tubes, esp. as exhaust gases contain soot and acidic vapours.
