The yarns under test are all of the same type for the same purpose, such as for warping, and are deflected from their plane of travel to the warping beam, into a path of defined length for measurement, and then returned to their original path. In the measurement path phase, the yarns are further deflected in a given order with a given force. The amount of deflection allowed by each yarn is measured, and/or registered and/or used as a constant for control units to handle the yarns.. The process allows the drawing forces on the yarns to be monitored, so that the individual yarns can be adjusted before being worked into a fabric.
