A reinforcement fabric for a heat-hardenable resin contains a supplementary weft of a heat-softenable yarn, e.g. of a copolyamide, so that the fabric may be cut easily, without fraying. Fabrics of glass, carbon or 'Kevlar' (RTM), when cut, in order to treat them with resin, or to assemble them into composite materials, tend to fray along the warp yarns on the edge of the cut. Glass fabrics with a greater density of warp yarns than weft are particularly prone to fraying. The incorporation of the heat-softenable yarn, on softening, ensures a binding between the warp and weft yarns. The fabric, when formed of glass, is particularly suited as a reinforcement in the production of skis.
