The ski or boat carrying car roof rack has a support frame (1) mounted in a conventional way on the roof gutter. A pivoting frame (3) is mounted transversely on top of the support frame. The pivoting frame is longitudinally extendible, having hollow profiles in which telescopic rails move. The rails have at both ends support feet. A sledge (9) to carry the load is movable alongside pivoting frame (3) and console (5). The sledge (9) is supported on rollers (8) and counter rollers.
