Chips are distributed on a continuously moving band in the mfr. of chipboard, using a disc screen made up of a number of staggered discs on driven shafts which mesh in together, and a device to orientate the chips across the direction of movement, so that, from the gaps in the disc screen, they are mainly disposed parallel to the discs. This orientating device consists of a grid of transverse plates between the disc screen and the deposit area, and the disc screen shafts are similarly arranged transversely. Chips deposit is uniformly thick over its whole area even at high production rate, chips are not damaged.
