A support is detachably insertable between the longitudinal edges (7,8) of two platforms (4). These lie immediately one above the other, in a scaffolding framework on an external wall face, to serve as a strut. A foot (12) is provided at each end, for detachable fixture to the longitudinal edge or side support of a platform. The strut is made up from two parts firmly joined together, with its length matching the vertical distance between the platforms, or comprising two bars longer than this distance.
