Sausage snack consists of an elongated sausage contg. sausage meat and spices. Spices are contained as a thin tube along the axis of the sausage. This tube is surrounded by an edible skin. Sausage is formed in a normal machine but with an additional tube along the centre down which is fed the spice mixt. Sausage provides a tasty snack. Use of a spice cone means that as the sausage is bitten, the spice flavour breaks suddenly onto the taste buds, creating a pleasant shock sensation which is then spread through the meat by chewing.
