The frame-type instrument secures the exposed uterus of a cow in position during stitching after a caesarian operation to remove a calf from the stomach cavity. It has parallel sides joined by other components, one of which has a double hook. One shank of the latter engages under the upper wound angle of the outer skin. Each side (2) of the frame (1) comprises top and bottom sections (2a,2b) at an obtuse angle to each other. The gap between the two bottom sections is bridged by a support (6) for the exposed uterus, sliding and lockable on the bottom suctions.
