The arrangement is intended for improving the grip of the player's hand on the bow of a violin, cello or the like and thereby prevent the hand from shifting towards the middle of the bow due to thumb pressure during playing. It consists of a hook arranged at the frog or nut of the bow which is engaged by the little finger when playing the cello or the ring finger when playing the violin. The hook may be fitted to an existing bow or a hook-shaped recess may be machined during manufacture.
