Domestic yoghurt maker - with acidity sensing electrodes cutting off heating element on reaching optimum maturity

A yoghurt maker for use in private households consists of a bottom with an electrical heating element in which the yoghurt beakers, filled with milk and a yoghurt culture, are inserted. The whole is covered by a detachable lid. One of the beakers is fitted with two electrodes which measure the acidity of the yoghurt by measuring the electrical conductivity which is changed by it. On reaching the optimum, the electrodes produce a signal for an electronic control unit to cut off the power. This ensures that the yoghurt has its optimum maturity and is neither under- nor over-ripe.
