The plant includes rows of pretreatment tanks for large or bulk parts, which can thus be degreased, picled, rinsed, and coated with flux. Above the plant are one or more overhead conveyor rails (27) fitted with workpiece transport trolleys (39). Each trolley (39) includes a hoist fitted with adjustable gripper tongs employed to lower workpieces into the various baths for pretreatment and then into molten zinc. Small workpieces are pref. placed in a basket carried by the gripper tongs; and the plant pref. includes a centrifuge for removing excess zinc from the small parts. An automatic and reliable plant for mass prodn. of workpieces.
