The arrangement compensates the radial play (a) of a ball or roller bearing (3) in the bore (41) of a bearing housing (4). It comprises a disc (2) which is arranged in the bore to one side of the bearing and has projections (21) at its periphery extending into the clearance gap (5). The bearing is axially spring-loaded (22) via this disc and the projections are formed by an annular projection with wedge-shaped (212) cross-section whose conical face (212) engages the outer race (31) of the bearing. The disc may itself provide the spring action and may be formed in plastic.
