The digital field strength measurement device with a seven segment display gives an exact indication readable at a distance unlike analogue display devices with rotating pointers and light bands. The field strength signal is specially decoded to enable display on the seven segment indicator by sending the appropriate signals to the indicator segments. It is partic. applicable for private citizen band radios in cars where a clear display is important for safety reasons and for ease of operation. The signal is digitised by an analogue-to-digital converter and then coded in a transistor matrix according to the specific application. The coded signal is then decoded for the seven segment display be a decoder feeding the display driver.
