Mould for injection moulding large plastics casts - with core which is movable by physical stresses produced during moulding

The mould has a core which is movable in response to physical stresses produced during moulding in the material to be cast, in order to minimise distortion. The mould is particulary suitable for injection castings of large dimensions and complicated surface structure from plastics. It has a metal base plate with circumferential strips determining a hollow space for casting, cooling grids, being tubes embedded in the base plate, shaped forming plates and strips which are removably fixed to the inside surface of the base plate with fixing means. The plates and strips and fixing means all having flush surfaces and form the required surface pattern. Bolts for the mobile cores are provided on some parts of the mould.
