The cone comprises a base layer (14) possessing good thermal conductivity and internally cooled with the liq., and an outer, target layer (16) which is irridated (Z) to generate neutron beams. More specifically, the cooling liq. is introduced (18) at the small dia. of the cone, flows under centrifugal force along the inner face of the cone and leaves.
