The slat for a window blind is designed so that it can be produced, transported and stored in any required length. The underneath side has at least one lengthwise groove (4) so that it can run over rollers. Crosswise to the lengthwise direction, on the upper side (11) and extending the entire width of the slat are transverse grooves (2). Each side (12) has a cavity (14) for a support slat (20). A top and bottom stop (16) each has a vertical groove.
