Settling container for sludge from coal washings - with clear water sepd. into collector under inclined floor

The clear water discharged from a settling container receiving the washings from a coal-washing plant or flotation pile is directed for future use into a collector under the container floor. This floor has a peripheral area of small slope followed by a steaper section which terminates in a central slump for sludge. The collector lies inside a peripheral ring of V-shaped supports below the peripheral floor area and surrounds an annular area round the sump where pumps etc. can be kept dry. The clear water collector does not occupy a separate ground area or require a separate tank with connecting conduits, pumps etc.
