Section ends are alternately formed as plugs and sockets, with bolting couplings, in sections of tubes driven in so as to provide site concrete piles. In each case the tube end (4) with a socket (3) overlaps its socket far enough for form and force-locking fitting against the inserted end (2) of the next section (1). Socket and inserted end have exterior distributed chord-type coupling recesses (5,6) combining to form tangentially accessible pockets to accommodate bolting pieces (8) which fill them. This permits rapid and easy pipe lengthening or shortening, and can transmit very powerful driving forces.
