Ionisation manometer for vacuum measurement - has anode with window and grid wires for passage of electrons and screened cathode

An ionisation manometer tube with a cylindrically-shaped anode is used to measure pressures in the fine, high and ultra-high vacuum region. The anode (1) is designed as an electrostatic closed hollow cylinder. The two ends of the hollow cylinder are covered with a plate (7). The anode has a window (2) with grid wires to allow the entry of electrons. All electrodes are coated with a fine gold layer. The electrodes are permanently heated. The cathode (3) is screened (4).
