Foamed plastics sheets are produced by cutting while still hot and then cooling, both processes being carried out within two hrs. of the start of the polymerisation reaction; the sheets are stored with air gap between. Suitable process even for reaction mixes which develop high temps. (e.g. polyols with high OH number), prods. have good mechanical strength and flame resistance.
