The tap has a stationary control disc (1) with three openings (3,4,5) through it, communicating with the cold water feed, the discharge line and a low pressure reservoir. The control disc (1) is overlaid by a regulating disc which rotates relative to it and has two openings overlapping the first opening (3) in the control disc (1) in all axial positions and progressively uncovering the second opening (4) in the control disc (1) in dependence on its angular position. The second and third openings (4,5) in the control disc (1) crescent shaped. The angle covered by the sum of the openings in both the discs is greater than 360Deg.
