Economical prefabrication, and easy and secure mounting and laying on a building site, with water draining off at the desired places, is afforded by a covering for a working platform, with sheet metal plates. It is made up from individual segments (1) covered with plates, the segments being firmly connected to the steel load bearing structure. Each segment pref. comprises a grid substructure (2,3) with firmly connected plate (4). The plate may have an incline on the substructure, or the whole segment may be located in the incline. Runoffs (6) can be provided at the lowest plate points.
