Plastics-insulating electric (high tension) power cable protected against moisture has an outer metal sheath in electrical contact with the outer conductor layer via spacers. This sheath has parallel or transverse corrugations pressed into the elastomeric sealing elements (esp. rings) in the space between the mantle and the cable core. The screening remains moisture-tight in spite of thermal variations.
