Tobacco stream equalising mechanism - has discharge wheel shearing off tobacco protruding over rotary holding disc edge

The mechanism equalises a continuous stream of tobacco held against a suction conveyor in a channel between parallel walls. Parallel to the surface of the conveyor (5) is a rotary holding disc (11), clear in the radial direction of a wall (2) of the channel (1), but protruding into it. A rotary discharge wheel (15), at right angles to the conveyor surface, has peripheral cutting edges shearing off the tobacco protruding over the disc edge. The wall of the channel opposite the disc is at a higher level than the portion of the other wall (3) below the latter, and has a recess (20) matching the discharge wheel.
