The vice is intended for holding a workpiece between a fixed (2) and a movable (1) jaw. It can be hand-held by a grip (8) on the jaw (1) clamp screw, or fitted with its base (6) on the foot of a do-it-yourself pillar drill, or secured in different positions to a work bench (32) by a screw clamp (22). The rear of the jaw (2) is provided with a bore to receive a corresp. projection on an upwardly extending portion (23) of the clamp (22). Projecting teeth (27,28) radially arranged around this bore and the projection permit locating the vice at different angles when securing it to the clamp by a set screw (31).
