Reclining seat with fixed back rest - supported on pairs of pivoted arms with different forward inclination and adjustable air spring

The assembly comprises a back rest (2) rigidly connected to the seat (1) which latter is swivelable relative to a base frame (3) about a transverse axis (6). The seat (1) is supported by two pairs of swivel arms (4,5) of which the rear pair (4) is inclined in forward direction at a greater angle (alpha) than the forward inclination (beta) of the front pair (5). The seat position is variable by a pneumatic spring (7) whose piston is linked to the pivot (6) connecting one (4) of the lever pairs to the seat (1). The arms (4,5) may be pivoted to transverse shafts in the base (3) and the seat respectively whilst the spring (7) is connected between the lower pivot of one (5) and the upper pivot (6) of the other (4) arm.
