Housing and front plate for panel mounted instrument - has interlocking using noses on tongues locking behind lugs on housing

The front plate for a monitoring or measuring instrument has a frame (2) which locks against a housing (1) inset into a panel (4). The frame has two resilient tongues (6) projecting rearwards top and bottom which fit into corresponding slots (7) in the rectangular housing. Each tongue has a nose projecting inwards from its rearmost tip, which locks behind a lug (9) projecting outwards from the wall of the frame. The noses and lugs have sloping surfaces and flat vertical faces giving an initial sliding action followed by a locking action upon full engagement. The housing has a locating collar (3) which fits around the outside of the opening in the panel and inside which the frame fits when fully inserted.
