The moving carrier (26) has two carrier faces at an angular interval from each other, relative to the drive spindle's (14) centre axis, each with an end fitting against the inward bent ends of the braking spring (15), in a mechanism for raising a sliding window, esp. of the type lowered into a cavity on a motor vehicle. A coupling socket (27), turning on the drive spindle, is joined to a drive pinion (18) on one side, while the other side bears an activating arm (29) with stop faces for the carrier faces, at a smaller angular interval. The inside end of the storage spring (17) is attached to the coupling socket.
