The burner uses the optimal oil-water emulsion and air or only oil and air fuel mixture, by regulating the air quantity. Pref. the burner housing (10) has an intake (11) for the air current (L) and an outlet for the oil-water emulsion and air fuel mixture. Part of the intake air (L1) flows through a chamber (20) containing the piezoelectric atomiser (26) and partially surrounded by a further chamber (30) through which a secondary air flow (SL), controlled by a variable regulator (35) is fed. A second regulator (45) controls the primary air flow (PL) by varying a flow slot (41) defined between the further chamber (30) and the burner housing (10). Both regulators (35,45) are controlled by a circuit responsive to the burner output to vary the respective air flows PL,SL).
