Heat-pump or energy management system - uses energy recovered from environment to drive heat pump by turbine

The heat-pump system recovers heat energy from the environment or waste heat. It uses a pump which is driven by a steam-expansion machine or turbine. The energy so obtained, in the form a refrigerating medium pumped up to vapour pressure and higher temp, is not used solely for the provision of hot water or other heating, but also to provide the mechanical energy to drive the heat pump. This is done by piston-type expansion machine or a turbine incorporated in the refrigerating medium circuit.
