The drilling or milling machine is partic. intended for mounting fixtures on a ski and comprises a pillar (1) with work support (2), a bracket (3) carrying the drill spindle assembly, and a motor (4) driving the spindle (via V-belt pulleys 5, 6). The spindle pulley (6) has a friction disc (7) which, together with a rotatable disc (12, 13), forms a spring-loaded coupling, the disc (12, 13) being keyed to a bush around the spindle (11). The coupling pressure is manually controllable (38-42) against the coupling spring to give a feel of the transmitted torque. The spindle is axially slidable in the bush and connected thereto via a spline. This feed movement is controlled by a manual lever (35) with fork (32) coupled to the spindle via (32, 34) an axial bearing. Downward spindle movement is against an adjustable spring (25).
