Sorting system for bulk loose material - has multi-channelled chute and free fall section ensuring adequate break-up of material

The coarse bulk material e.g. old coloured glass chips to be sorted is stored in a supply container (1) which is adjoined by a multi-channelled vibration chute (2) which is followed at its other end by a free-fall section (16) of sufficient height. The multi-channelled chute causes the bulk material to be distributed transversely to the conveyor direction partic. if the base of the chute has a saw-tooth cross-section wherein each channel has an inclined base surface and a side wall at right angles . Suitable known sorting devices such as blow nozzles (4,5) and colour sensors (3) can now be directed onto the free flow of material which is sufficiently spaced out.
