The system has a heat pump for water or air and a compressor (17) driven by an electric motor (33) for heating the circulating heating medium. The compressor (17) and/or the electric motor (33) has a cooling device (26) which supplies the exhaust heat obtained from the required cooling to the heating medium for the heating system. The primary circuit pref. uses water circulated through a ground collector (10) allowing it to reach a temp. of 5 degs. It is fed to a heat exchanger circuit (15) for heating a secondary water flow to a temp. of 53 degs. The compressor (17) in the heat exchanger circuit (15) has a cooling device (26) supplying the excess heat to the condenser (18) used to transfer the heat of the secondary flow from the heating circuit (19).
