Control system for storage heater - has multi-segment display driven by coder coupled to temp. sensor and time generator

The control system has a temperature sensor and a time generator. Signals dependent on the temp. sensor (4) or on the time generator are passed alternately to a coder whose outputs are connected to the cathodes of at least one multi-segment display (22,23). A pushbutton switch (26) is located in the circuit containing the anodes of the display. Two displays may be present and the anodes are connected via controlled switches (24,25) alternately to the pushbutton switch and the corresponding cathodes are connected in parallel. The sensor or time generator can be checked using relatively little power.
