Dishwasher type front door hinge mechanism - has hinge disc cut=out engaging door edge, providing pivotal axis in door depth

A pivotal axis in the depth of the door thickness is provided in a hinging system for doors on the front of domestic appliances, esp. electric dish-washing machines. Use is made of a hinge disc (6), with pref. rectangular cutout engaging the edge of the door (1) so that its axis lies in the depth of the door, as swivel axis. There is a bearing to accommodate the peripheral surface of the disc, and elements hold the door and disc in the bearing. The bearing can contain a spring-loaded swivel loop, swivelling with the disc. This is simple and reliable, and permits installation of any type of solid unworked wooden door, with no harm to crockery.
