The capsule for saving life at sea comprises an outer sphere, open at the top, housing an inner one weighted at the bottom and with an entry-hatch in the top. Both are of synthetic material. The gap between the spheres' opposing faces is some 10-20 cm and this space contains a medium for ensuring mobility of the inner sphere independent of the outer; pref. water. The inner sphere may have a gyro-stabiliser in the bottom which is run up if danger threatens, using ship's power.
