Multilayer printed and lacquered film for packaging foodstuffs esp. chocolate, comprise (from outer to inner) layers of (a) a layer with optical metallic character, (b) a paper sheet, (c) an adhesive layer (d) a transparent plastic layer and (e) a layer of a cold sealing compsn. applied at least locally. At least one of the layers (c) and (d) contains a pigment with a metallic gloss. Layer (a) is pref. of printed and lacquered aluminium foil and layer (d) is esp. of oriented polypropylene 10-20 microns, esp. 12-15 microns thick or polyethylene 10-50 microns, esp. 15-20 microns thick. The metallic pigment is esp. aluminium powder, brass pigment, copper pigment or organic mother of pearl pigment. Prods. are cheap packaging films, esp. for chocolate, which on opening give a metallic appearance on the inside.
