摘要
Condensate at 100-120 deg. C leaving a battery of autoclaves is fed into a tank and its pressure reduced. The condensate is then fed via one or more pumps through a filter removing solids with particle size of 0.01 mm or larger. The condensate next flows througha weakly acid cation exchanger to reduce the pH of the condensed water to 6-7, so it can be recycled to the autoclaves via a steam generator. Tank pref. contains a coil through which fresh water can be fed for preheating from its initial temp. of 7-18 deg. C, before it is fed to a tank employed to supply the autoclave. Waste heat in the aq. condensate is reclaimed together with water which is recycled and does not, therefore, cause environmental pollution.
