Dentrifice compsns. consist of opt. ground Viscum album leaves and stems, or their chemical constituents, opt. mixed with standard dentifrice materials. Mistletoe can be pulverised with a coffee-grinder. The powder is spread on a tooth-brush, opt. with standard dentifrice components or soda, and used after each meal for a thorough cleaning. Plaque and pyorrhoea vanish after a few days. The powder must be stored dry. Healing activity is enhanced by retaining generated fluid in mouth for as long as possible. The compsns. clean both teeth and mouth, prevent caries, remove dental plaque and tartar, and prevent and heal pyorrhoea and tooth loosening.
