The cable, running out from a drive element, is led in flexible guide elements mounted to allow axial movement, and controls a moving carrier which raises and lowers a window, on a motor vehicle. The freely axially movable end (15,18) of the guiding element (7,8) is subjected to a pressure force. A stop is provided for this end, in its neutral built-in position. This can be a spring (23), compressed into block shape; or an axially movable spring- loaded support unit. Idle travel is reduced.
