The system uses a heat exchanger between a closed primary machine cooling circuit (11) and an open heat output circuit (16). The heat exchanger is formed by a separation wall (5) between the two circuits (11,16) with perpendicular fins on both sides of it, those on one side heated by the circulated coolant fins and transferring heat to those on the other side, for subsequent transfer to the secondary circulation stream. The fins pref. run parallel to the respective flow streams. Pref. the secondary circuit (16) is defined by a duct running (4) axially across the full width of the machine housing (3), with the air drawn in by a fan (15) at the front and ejected at the back. The cooling air stream is circulated via a second fan (12).
