The system has an intermediate storage unit (Z3,Z4) belonging to a temporary store (18) temporarily assigned to each intermediate storage container (3,4). The data relating to the contents of one storage container are written into the storage unit associated with that container. These data and data of a second type are written into a memory (20) having the removable data carrier. Whilst data are being written into one storage unit, data are read out of another storage unit and transferred to the memory with the removable data carrier. The data are entered on the data carrier. The write and/or read address controls of the temporary store are dependent on the operating condition of one of the data sources (9,13).
