The auxiliary power system for a bicycle or vehicle uses energy obtained from movements of the frame or chassis due to uneven road surfaces to increase the drive power. It may also be used on a boat to convert wave energy to power. The mechanism has two swinging arms with a spring between them, one arm being attached to the moving chassis or frame. They are attached by cables and springs to two freewheels, the cables passing over guide pulleys. A shaft carrying the freewheels is then connected to the drive of the vehicle, e.g. the crank wheel of a bicycle.
