The equipment absorbs heat from the environment, using collectors with heat-conductive absorption components guiding a storage medium. It comprises a chamber containing one or more collectors (2), and having one or more walls (14) permeable to heat radiation. The chamber can be connected to or shut off from the ambient air, so that the collectors absorb convection or ambient heat when connected to the ambient air (3), and radiant heat when shut-off from it. The collectors can be mounted clear of the chamber floor (13), so that when the chamber is opened up they lie directly in the path of the air between two openings (161,162).
