The thrust element for a twin circuit brake control has the brake cylinders in parallel bores in a common housing. A thrust element (18) presses with its nose into a recessed thrust plate (14) whose outer flanges press onto the twin pistons (5). The plate locates in a conical bore (19) in the fixed part of the housing. The design provides a simple balance control for the twin circuits, with the thrust element tilting to operate either piston. The nose in the thrust element has the same curvature as the recess in the thrust plate.
