The foam material shredder consists of a feed hopper (1), in which a motor-driven pre-shredder (3) is fitted. The pre-shredder consists of two parallel shafts fitted with sets of shredding blades. The shafts are counter rotating. One of the shafts has a V-belt pulley fitted on its end, driving shaft (9) of screw conveyor (5), by which the pre-shredded material is transported from the hopper (1) via discharge opening (4) to the grinder compartment (10). The grinder compartment (10) has a vertical rotor with disintegrator tool (12) driven by separate motor (17) via V-belt set (16). The ground material passes through screen (13) into the ground material cbute (14) from where it is conveyed by an air stream through duct (15) for further handling. The material being processes itself acts as soundproofing in the system, which in turn reduces noise levels in use.
